a compelling documentary film about
a frustrated Deaf theater artist who
claimed fame on Broadway until his illness
cut his writing and acting career short.


Bruce Hlibok became first Deaf actor on Broadway in the musical, "Runaways"
directed by Elizabeth Swados and produced by Joseph Papp at the Joseph Papp
Public Theater before moving to Broadway at the Plymouth Theater. "Runaways"
performed 274 shows before it finally shut down its production on New Year
day, January 1, 1979.
