Rico Washington ran for 190 yards and four touchdowns and Ricky Gadsden had 165 yards and two touchdowns and two conversions to lead South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind over Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf 40-14 Saturday.

Washington averaged 19 yards per carry and Gadsden 15.

SCSDB is 4-4 and plays Thursday at home against Georgia School for the Deaf.

FURMAN: Anthony Esquivel’s game-winning goal at the 85:25 mark gave Furman a 1-0 victory of College of Charleston (6-5-1, 2-2) on Saturday in a men’s soccer match. It was the first match for Furman (10-2-1, 5-0 Southern Conference) since the death of freshman Gray Griffin on Oct. 11.

“This was a tough game for us,” said head coach Doug Allison. “We wanted to come out here and play hard in honor of Gray. I am very pleased to get a good conference win.”
