The Cannonsburg Challenged Ski Association (CCSA) needs volunteers to share the thrill of skiing with people with disabilities.
The Challenged Ski Association, a chapter of Disabled Sports USA, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to downhill skiing for people of all disabilities.
Each year, CCSA provides lessons and the use of adaptive ski equipment to people with disabilities, including those who are visually and hearing impaired, wheelchair users, amputees and those with balance and coordination challenges.
Volunteers are greatly needed to continue CCSA's program.
"We need skiers and non-skiers alike," said Craig Wallace, CCSA president.
The program is held Monday through Thursday evenings and Sundays at the Cannonsburg Ski Area. Volunteer training begins soon, and the CCSA weekly program starts in January at Cannonsburg. For more information, call Rob Schwartz at (616) 335-9869 after 6 p.m.
