Berkeley - -- Current and former deaf students have settled a lawsuit accusing U-C campuses in Berkeley and Davis of not providing adequate services for the hearing impaired.
The university did not admit to any wrong-doing. It did agree to pay each of five plaintiffs $10,000 and to streamline procedures for supplying interpreters for classes and extracurricular events.
The university also agreed to pay more than a (m) million dollars in legal fees for the plaintiffs.
