Embezzler ordered to pay restitution

CORALVILLE -- An Iowa County woman was ordered to pay $29,460 in restitution to the Iowa Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers in Coralville for embezzling funds while she was an employee.
Amy Fields, 32, of Millersburg, pleaded guilty in September to first-degree theft.
She was sentenced Friday in Johnson County District Court to a 10-year suspended prison term, with five years' probation. Her fines were suspended.
Fields pleaded guilty to stealing $25,034 from the audiology center from August 2000 to March 2002 by taking cash from deposits and using company credit cards to make personal purchases.
