Molefe snatches Miss Africa Decade

Molefe has booked herself a ticket to the National Miss Africa Decade to be held at Maharaja Conference centre next week, when she snatched Miss Africa Decade for the South East region, November 16 in Ramotswa.
Thembezelane 18, a student at Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre, paraded no beauty irrespective of her crippled hands.
Also registering as one of the best beauties among the 18 ladies who afforded the pegeant was 22 year old Tshepo Phuthego who is wheel chair bound also from Tlamelong. Tshepo got second position with Ramotswa Centre for the Deaf Education 26 year old Nametso Selwe in the third position.
The pegeants of this nature are held throughout Botswana’s districts. In accordance with United Nations (UN) 2001 declaration of African Decade for people with disabilities to extend up to the year 2010.
The declaration stipulates that UN member countries dedicate the decade and themselves to ensuring that the rights of people with disabilities are implemented, that people with disabilities are assisted in every way possible to exploit their abilities among the contracts that face them.
The declaration also seeks people with disabilities to be assisted to use their challenges as stepping stones towards productive futures. The beauty pegeants and district commemorations for people with disabilities are therefore geared towards involving such people in difficult activities and concientising the public about them.
Botswana will launch the African Decade declaration on November 26 at the Gaborone Main Mall and Miss African Decade Botswana to be chosen at Maharaja context (November 22) will grace the occasion.
The queen is expected to advocate for people with disabilities and lobby for the betterment of their welfare.
The commemorations for the South East district will be held in Otse, Ramotswa and Tlokweng on Thursday, next Monday and Thursday respectivefully .
