Students work to protect habitat

Cruz, a fourth-grader in Cathy Corrado's class for deaf and hard of hearing students at Birney Elementary School, is working with other students to help protect and restore Tacoma's Puget Creek on Thursday. The students planted Sitka willows, red twig dogwoods and ferns.
