BRATTLEBORO -- Austine School for the Deaf used a big night from Jennifer Harbart to tip-off its girls basketball season with a 30-24 win over American School for the Deaf.
Harbart exploded for 20 points, six rebounds and four steals to bring the Arrows back from a 13-11 halftime deficit.
"This was a nice way to start off the season," Arrow coach Peter Rausch said. "We're undefeated."
Shaquanna Burgess chipped in six steals and four points. Jennilyn Rosa (three points, four rebounds and four steals), Britney Schneider (three points, four rebounds and four steals) and Audree Conoley (three points) also had good games for the Arrows.
Austine will be back in action Friday at 6 p.m., when Learning Center comes to town.

BRATTLEBORO -- Steve Lamoge had a career high 24 points, but it wasn't enough to propel Austine School for the Deaf on Wednesday.
Austine's boys basketball team got a great game from Lamoge, who had four assists and three steals to go along with his 24 points, but couldn't overcome American School for the Deaf in the 44-39 loss.
Play was even in the second half, with each team scoring 18 points, but a 20-14 first quarter proved to be the difference.
Wayne Trombley pitched in six points and 13 rebounds for the 0-1 Arrows. Simon Walters had four points, and Tucker Kilburn knocked down his first career basket.
Austine's next game is Friday at 7:45 p.m., when they host Learning Center.
