12 DAYS SCANDINAVIA TOUR PLANNED

WRAD International Travel SIG (WITS) is pleased to announce a new 12-day

Scandinavia Tour on July 6 -17, 2003. The complete package cost is $2,291

per person (double occupancy) from JFK. The land only package price is

$1,269. Top professional sign language interpreter(s) will accompany the

tour group.

Enjoy 12 days traveling through Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Our first class

motorcoach trip starts in Copenhagen, the Danish capital; then travel

through a full romantic day journey to Aalborg, across the new

"Storebaelforbindelsen" bridge which will connect you to the fairy-tale

island of Funen. Next day experience a pleasant two-hour ferry ride from

Frederikshavn across the strategic Kattegat to Gothenburg, In Olso Norway,

visit Vistas of Akershus Castle, City Hall, National Theater, Parliament,

Royal Palace, Broadcasting House, and Gustav Vigeland's stark sculptures of

people and animals in Frogner Park. Drive through the Telemark region to

Bolkesjo. Take the scenic route to visit Vemork where the water plant was

blown up by Heroes of Telemark, Norwegian & British commados. Visit the

Vemork Museum. En route a picture stop of the 500-foot Latefoss waterfall,

then by ferry across the Hardangerfjord from Utne to Kvanndal. Continue to

Bergen, Norway's picture-perfect Hanseatic seaport. Bergen, home of the

composer Grieg, is built on seven hills with fjords on one side and the

1,000-foot Floyen on the other. Travel to Sognefjord, with more spectacular

scenery, where take a breathtaking cruise on one of Norway's most mighty

fjords. Visit Lillehammer of winter Olympic sports fame. Then travel to

Gjovik along beautiful Lake Mjosa, and continue through Varmland's unspoiled

wilderness of forest and lakes to Karlstad. Then east towards Stockholm via

Alfred Nobel's Bofors, the ancient garrison town of Orebro, and modern

Eskilstuna, world famous for its stainless steel. Before Stockholm, stop in

Mariefred to view the Castle of Gripsholm. Enjoy sightseeing the most

beautiful of the Scandinavian capitals, Stockholm, with palaces, castles,

and parks. Return to Copenhagen, en route through Norrkbping, then across

the Gota Canal to Linkoping. A short drive to Halsingborg, then a ferry

ride to Hamlet's Helsingor from where you return to Copenhagen. Then bring

yourself home with rich memories from your Scandinavian trip.
