NEW FILMS THIS WEEK
TEARS OF THE SUN, starring Bruce Willis from Sony Pictures, debuts in select theaters this week with closed captioning and descriptive narration. BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE, starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah, from Buena Vista Pictures, also debuts this week with closed captions only in select theaters equipped with MoPix technologies.

MoPix takes Manhattan. The first Rear Window Captioning and DVS Theatrical systems debut in the Big Apple this week. AMC Empire 25, in Times Square will show two accessible films this week, Tears of the Sun (with both closed captions and descriptions) and Old School (with captions only, playing on Sat Mar 8). See times and theater address below. You'll hear more from us about this particular MoPix site in the weeks to come! Enjoy!
OUR NUMBER ONE QUESTION
What can I do to get closed captioned and described films closer to my home? We've assembled the phone numbers and addresses of the headquarters of major theater chains-- let them know you're eager to see accessible films, eat their popcorn and be a regular customer. And do write to us, access@wgbh.org, so we can connect you via e-mail or phone to other consumers in your area who want to advocate for more locations together. The link to the list of chains is

What can I do to get (insert name of much anticipated film or DVD here) released with captions and descriptions? Find out which studio is distributing the film/s you want to attend or the upcoming DVD release (info is available online at sites such as movies.com or just e-mail us and we'll figure it out). Write to the studio and let them know you're out there, and you're anxious to see their film/s. And if a studio has already released a film that you're disappointed is not accessible to you, let them know that as well. And while you're writing, send a word of thanks to the studios that do release accessible films (list of films and studios is always included in the update each week -- for example, CHICAGO = Miramax).
