From: PRNewswire (press release) - Mar 20, 2003
New Concept Expands Availability of Tailored Wireless Services
For People Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Wynd Communications
Corporation (a GoAmerica, Inc. company; Nasdaq: GOAM), the leading wireless
communications provider for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, today
announced the launch of its new Deafwireless Superstore(TM), a new concept in
supplying wireless products and services to people with hearing loss. The
superstore will combine an online shopping destination with a retail presence
at deaf trade events nationwide.
The Deafwireless Superstore will provide a truly "one-stop-shop"
experience, offering a variety of wireless services, including Wynd's
WyndTell(R) brand, the market's leading wireless service. The superstore will
also offer a Deafwireless(TM) branded service, along with services from other
carriers such as T-Mobile, plus a selection of wireless accessories.
A New Chapter of Service
"Wireless service choices have exploded since Wynd introduced WyndTell to
the deaf community in 1997," said Joe Karp, Director of Marketing for Wynd.
"The Deafwireless Superstore represents the next chapter in Wynd's commitment
to meeting the communications needs of this market, combining the widest
selection of tailored wireless services with Wynd's experience in serving
people who are deaf or hard of hearing."
Tradeshow Outlets and Online
The Deafwireless Superstore will be available at 14 trade events across
the U. S. in 2003, including San Jose, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA;
Minneapolis, MN; Washington, DC; Kansas City, KS; and Philadelphia, PA during
the first half of the year. Deafworldwide Expo on Saturday, March 22nd in San
Jose, CA will be the opening event for the Deafwireless Superstore. People who
are unable to attend one of the events can visit the Deafwireless Superstore
online at http://www.deafsuperstore.com, the new web site that is set to be unveiled
on March 22nd.
Distribution Through Existing Wynd Dealers
The Deafwireless Superstore will also distribute products and services
through Wynd's nationwide network of dealers.
"Many of Wynd's dealers have year-round storefronts in key metropolitan
locations and have fostered long-term relationships with local customers,"
added Karp. "Our dealers play a unique role in the community, and we believe
it's critical that every Wynd dealer have access to the same products and
services that are available in our superstore. This enables us, together, to
address the varied buying preferences of our customers."
Wynd recently expanded its dealer channel, with new dealers joining the
program as a result of Wynd's acquisition of the assets of Deafwireless.
