2 East Bay groups get HP grants

Hewlett-Packard has awarded $1.3 million worth of technology grants to 26 nonprofits nationwide, including the Computer Technology Program of Berkeley and the Deaf Counseling Advocacy and Referral Agency of Hayward.
The grants are part of the Palo Alto computer maker's Community Technology Center initiative, which is designed to help underserved communities participate in the digital age.
