GOLD RUSH FAMILY DAY


**EVERYONE WELCOME - DEAF, HEARING, YOUNG, AND YOUNG AT HEART**

Sunday, May 18 12 - 4

-Try your hands at panning for gold.

-Explore the excitement and untold stories of the California Gold Rush

-Hands-on activities - Make a wood "keep box" with Ron Trumble

-Special tours of museum galleries

-Treasure Hunt

-Learn how to make hard tack (a Gold Rush era bread)

-Catch Gold Fever


WHEN: May 18, 2003 Noon - 4 p.m.

DEAF ACTIVITIES for the whole family include: (detailed schedule will follow)

-ASL storytelling;
-Deaf docent-led treasure hunt
-Deaf artist-led art project--making a wood "keep box"
-ASL interpretation of cooking demo & other activities
-Deaf-led gold panning activity (gold panning area will be for the

exclusive use of D.E.A.F. Media from 3 - 4.)
