CSD Announces Thomas Galey as CSD University Manager
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -CSD University, set up to provide business-specific training for CSD'semployees, has found its manager in Thomas Galey, formerly the chief executive officer of Deaf Community Services of San Diego.
"We are excited to have someone with Galey's expertise as we continue developing CSD University," said Benjamin Soukup, CSD chief executive officer. "Our commitment to providing our leading-edge services starts with CSD's employees. Maintaining and honing their skills will ensure our consumers receive superior services across the board."
CSD University began in 2002 with a company-wide commitment to create coordinated training efforts for CSD employees. Currently, online training is offered to CSD managers and supervisors, and more extensive online plans are in the works. The focus of this program is to make CSD's already talented staff even better.
"The challenge of implementing an in-house training program for all of CSD's employees is what attracted me to the position, as well as working with the high caliber CSD team," said Galey. "I am constantly impressed with CSD's global efforts in the provision of their high quality services."
Two classrooms are being constructed at CSD's headquarters in Sioux Falls, and CSD is working on a project collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology to determine the feasibility of a distance learning program.
"I am very pleased that Galey is joining our team to focus full time on the implementation of this program," said Scot Atkins, CSD senior vice president human resources. "I have worked with him in the past while we were both on the training team at Sprint, and I am confident that he has the skill and knowledge to make things happen."
