Job grant to aid the blind and deaf

From: Everett Herald, WA - Apr 26, 2003

WorkSource Lynnwood officials plan to use a $23,000 state grant to provide special services to job seekers who are blind, deaf or not fluent in English. The grant was announced Thursday. Part of the money will pay for a May 29 job fair where there will be interpreters in Arabic, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese and American Sign Language. Money also will be available for interpreters and new materials in several languages to help people visiting the WorkSource center. And some of the money will be spent on an analysis to identify specific barriers, hiring trends and service gaps that make it hard for these people to find jobs. The Lynnwood center is at 20311 52nd Ave. W. , Suite 300.
