PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Passion, a National Women's Football Association expansion team, will host the first regular-season game in team history Saturday.
The Passion will play the Baltimore Burn in a Mid-Atlantic Division matchup at James Weir Stadium in Belle Vernon, Westmoreland County. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for general admission. Children ages 5-12 and adults 62 and older pay $8. Children under 5 get in free.
Local talent on the Passion roster includes running back Bunny Dorsett (Aliquippa), a niece to Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett; wide receiver Michele Halleran (North Versailles), who is hearing-impaired and gets her play calls from a sideline interpreter; and defensive back and captain Teresa Conn, who travels from Erie for the love of the game.
The Passion practice Mondays at 6:30 pm at Dean Field in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield section.
