SC School for Deaf & Blind teacher returns after deportation
From: WIS, SC - Apr 2, 2003
(Spartanburg-AP) April 2, 2003 - Loreta Dylgjeri returned to a classroom this week at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind after almost a year since she was deported to Albania.
Students sang as a teary-eyed Dylgjeri realized a dream.
The 40-year-old teacher had been in the United States since 1993 when she came to this country for a two-month study period and immediately requested political asylum. Her request was denied.
Last month the deportation order was revoked, and she returned to the school Monday.
