Seventh Annual Academic Bowl at Gallaudet University--May 2-6
Washington, DC--The 7th Annual National High School Academic Bowl for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students will be held in the Gallaudet University Kellogg Conference Center, May 2-6, 2003. Regional competitions were held during the spring and the top 10 winners will be vying for the National Championship on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in the GUKCC Swindells Auditorium.
The first match will begin Sunday at 1:15 pm and the last match of the day will begin at 5 p.m. Competition will resume Monday morning at 8:30 am. The complete schedule and list of activities for the participants can be viewed at: http://ab.gallaudet.edu
The 10 schools competing are: Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind; Florida School for the Deaf (defending champions); Indiana School for the Deaf; The Learning Center; Lincoln High School; Maryland School for the Deaf; Monroe #1 BOCES; Mountain Lakes High School; University High School and the Wisconsin School for the Deaf.
The Academic Bowl for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students is sponsored by Gallaudet University, The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, and AT&T Consumer. The purpose of the Academic Bowl is to foster the pursuit of academic excellence; promote a spirit of academic competition and good sportsmanship; and to encourage social opportunities for collegiality among students.
