Somber Easter for Newark family

(04/20/03) NEWARK - It's a somber Easter for one Newark family. Their 51-year-old uncle has been missing since Monday, and the worst part is that he can't help himself. Henrique Da Silva is both deaf and mute.

Because of his disabilities, Anna Rosa Da Silva, his sister, says that he will not respond to his name or be able to say that he is hungry. She said that he normally carries a piece of paper with his name and address inside his wallet, but he left the wallet at home.

Da Silva said her brother wandered off once before to a cafe across the street where a man took advantage of his disabilities. She's afraid that someone may have harmed her brother or is holding him against his will.

Henrique Da Silva was last seen in the backyard of his Lafayette Street home on Monday afternoon.
