Hit and Run Driver Found and Charged

(KSDK) -- A 20-year-old St. Louis man has been charged in the fatal hit and run accident that killed a man who was deaf and mute.

Jason Barnett was arrested Thursday and is facing felony charges for leaving the scene of an accident. Barnett allegedly struck 37 year old Jerome Strawder on south Jefferson Avenue earlier this month.

He told police he honked at Strawder, but the man didn't seem to hear it. He then panicked and drove away.
