Airtel scheme for hearing impaired

AirTel has introduced a new way of communication for the hearing impaired by way of the Confidence Plan.
The new scheme, targeted at people with hearing and speech impairment entails a monthly charge of Rs 399 and unlimited SMS facility for the same amount. Incoming and outgoing calls would be barred under this plan.
In order to avail this connection a document bearing proof of the user's impairment is required. The document could be a certification from a deaf school/college/organisation certifying his/her impairedness, or any medical /other relevant certficate from government authorities or, medical certficate with proof of his/her hearing impairedness from a government. registered hospital certifying his /her hearing impairedness, medical certificate from reputed private medical institution.
In order to create awareness about the new scheme AirTel is in the process of approaching organisations and institutions for the hearing impaired apart from NGOs.
The Confidence Plan will also have direct access to latest information such as news, stocks, cricket through AirTel's 32K SIM card.
