Maryland Relay provides phones for the disabled
From: WHAG-TV, MD - Jun 7, 2003
HAGERSTOWN, MD- A group providing phones for the disabled met Saturday in an attempt to keep pace with their high-tech field. The Maryland Relay held their latest meeting in Hagerstown. The group provides services for deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired. The Relay allows callers to see conversations written out on a special phone. And the technology keeps improving. Nancy Seidman of the Maryland Relay said, "they're reliable, we're used to picking up the phone and making a call. The more technology you add, there's more glitches. So we're talking about smoothing the glitches, and making the relay be useful and easier to use for our constituents." For mor information about Maryland Relay, go to www.mdrelay.org
