Thygesen Accused child rapist indicted by grand jury
From: Jackson Sun, TN - Jun 10, 2003
A Crockett County grand jury on Monday indicted a 19-year-old Gibson man on charges of raping his preschool-age relative.
Brandon Thygesen, of Tenn. 186, was indicted on two counts of raping a child. He could face 10 to 15 years in prison if he is found guilty of the Class A felony.
He is accused of raping his preschool-age relative in her Gadsden bathroom on May 9 while her parents briefly left the house, according to an affidavit filed in Crockett County General Sessions Court.
Thygesen's arraignment will be 9 a.m. Monday in Crockett County Circuit Court.
Thygesen attended the School for the Deaf in Knoxville and stayed with his grandmother in Gibson on weekends when the school closed, officials said. He uses sign language, reads lips and writes, officials said.
An interpreter is helping Thygesen communicate with investigators.
Thygesen posted a $10,000 bond last month.
