Pastor Matt and Eva Barlow are missionaries in Managua, Nicaragua.
Matt Barlow is deaf and, with signing and his wife as interpreter, their goal is to bring educational opportunities to deaf Nicaraguan children by establishing schools for them.
Disabled children in Nicaragua remain at home, uneducated, to do household chores. The Barlows strive to change that by teaching deaf children life skills for future success.
Many area residents have been to help build the schools and assist with short-term medical clinics in the Managua area.
Along with a slide show, the Barlows will make a presentation about their missionary fields and their goals at Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa on Thursday, July 31, at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
