Gallaudet spikes the Eagles

Gallaudet knocked the Mary Washington College volleyball team out of a tie for first place in the Capital Athletic Conference with a 3-1 victory last night in Washington, 21-30, 30-16, 30-18, 30-21.

Freshman outside hitter Kathryn Feldman had 17 digs and junior defensive specialist Jackie Durr added 14 digs in the loss.

The Eagles (13-10, 4-2 CAC) broke a 15-15 tie and won 15 of the game's final 21 points to claim the first set. However, Gallaudet dominated the rest of the match.

Gallaudet (13-14, 4-2) entered last night's game needing to win its final two CAC matches to ensure a home game in the first round of the conference tournament.

The Bison were led by senior outside hitter Nicole Snell with 14 kills and just one error in 22 attacks.
