MSD sweeps Iowa Deaf

From: Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil, IA - Oct 4, 2003

FAIRBAULT, Minn. - Jada Hart recorded 14 assists in her new role as setter but it wasn't enough as Iowa School for the Deaf fell to Minnesota Schoolf for the Deaf in three straight games 25-7, 25-18, 25-12 Saturday afternoon.

The role change for Hart appears to be taking a permanent nature as the team's starting setter did not suit up or travel with the team.

"Jada played well, especially considering she was out of position," said Bobcat coach Karen Lechner.

Katie Romey was strong at the net for the Bobcats recording two blocks and three kills in the Great Plains School for the Deaf Tournament.

"We will see them again in the conference tournament," said Lechner. "Now we know where we stand."

Merideth Kasal racked up three set assists and two blocks and Amanda Moon had six digs for Iowa Deaf who drops to a record of 6-5 on the season.
