A COURSE for deaf parents will kick off next week in Prospect Hill. The one-and-a-half hour sessions, which begin on Tuesday at 7.30pm, will run weekly at the offices of the National Association for Deaf People at Atlantic House, 39A Prospect Hill until December 2.
The course will provide practical tips and support to deaf parents about communicating with their child, their development and family relationships.
"This is an opportunity for parents to share experiences, strengths and skills and to observe and learn from one another," says a spokesperson for the association. "The sessions will be delivered in a relaxed atmosphere by Siobhan Burke and Orla Moore, clinical psychologists with Galway Community Services."
