Little leads Frostburg over Gallaudet, 71-31

WASHINGTON — LaVale’s Tracey Little scored a game-high 15 points and sophomore Kelly True added 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds to lead Frostburg State to a 71-31 win over Gallaudet in the consolation game of the Gallaudet Tournament Sunday afternoon.

Little, a junior and a former standout at Allegany High School, added eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks and was named to the All-Tournament Team. True posted her second double-double in three games.

The Bobcats (3-2) shot 17-of-43 (39.5 percent) from the floor in the first half and held the Bison (0-4) without a field goal for over 11 minutes in building a 37-14 lead at the break. Gallaudet hit just 4-of-20 shots in the opening stanza.

Frostburg State outscored Gallaudet 34-17 in the second half and cruised to the win. The Bobcats owned a 48-28 advantage on the boards and forced 41 turnovers.

Freshman Krysten Hargrove scored a career-high 11 points, grabbed six rebounds and added four steals.

Eleven of 12 Bobcat players scored.

Frostburg State visits Seton Hill Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Southwestern 89, FSU 46

Frostburg State fell to Southwestern (Tex.) Saturday night in the second game of the Gallaudet Tournament.

The Bobcats were done in by 38 turnovers and 29.8 percent (14 out of 47) shooting.

FSU made 24 turnovers in the first half and trailed 38-24 at the break.

Little led the Bobcats with 17 points, while junior Jamie Cable added eight points.

Sophomore Kelly True grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
