BRIDGETON -- A 17-year-old Bank Street resident and her infant daughter have been reported as missing since last Monday, police said Wednesday.

Jazmine J. Franklin and her 7-month-old daughter, Felicity U. Roberts, were supposed to return to the city on Feb. 2, after having left on Jan. 30 to visit a relative in the Bronx, N.Y., according to a police report by Ptl. Jason Hovermann.

Franklin's mother, Edith L. Jackson, of Bank Street, reported her daughter and granddaughter as missing Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson told police she had contacted the relative her daughter was visiting in New York, but was told she and her infant child had been gone for a couple of days.

Police have since entered Franklin and Roberts into a national database of missing persons, and have notified New York City police via computer, according to Det. Sgt. Michael Gaimari.

Local authorities have also contacted the relative Franklin visited in New York, but were informed, as was the 17-year-old's mother, that Franklin and her infant daughter had left days ago.

Franklin is deaf, according to the police report, and was described as a black female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing an estimated 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Her mother told police she could possibly be wearing a gold necklace with a medallion on it, according to Hovermann's report.

Jackson's oldest daughter said Wednesday evening that Franklin and her infant daughter had not been seen or heard from by any relatives they had contacted the past few days.
