Eagles sweep two from Gallaudet

Softball team improves to 15-14
Mary Washington College swept a Capital Athletic Conference softball doubleheader from Gallaudet yesterday, 6-2 and 20-2 in Washington.
Abbey Wineland pitched a two-hitter in the opener and struck out 13. Erin Bundrick went three-for-three for the Eagles, and Meghan Witt had two hits and an RBI.
The Eagles' bats erupted in the second game. North Stafford High School graduate Erin Rantz went four-for-four with three RBIs and two runs scored; Lindsey Painter was three-for-three with three RBIs and two runs; and Kelly Keenan was three-for-three and scored four times.
Freshman Jessica Simon struck out seven to earn the victory.
MWC completed its CAC regular-season schedule with a 5-3 record. The Eagles (15-14 overall) visit Chowan Saturday.
