Amir Zayed Idrisi-Schifano of Overland Park has accepted membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and will be recognized this fall in a ceremony at KU.
This society is a highly selective, national honors organization that recognizes first and second year undergraduate students who excel academically.
Idrisi-Schifano was born with cochlear nerve damage. He relies on hearing aids, a sign-language interpreter. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East, where he attended honors classes.
