Chinese govt allocates lottery profits to aid disabled

BEIJING, June 7 (Xinhuanet) -- The Chinese government plans to use national lottery profits of some 135 million yuan (16.3 million USdollars) to aid disabled people in 2004 and 2005, sources with the China Disabled Persons' Federation said on Monday.
The implementation of the project includes free-of-charge distribution of aid instruments to 15,000 impoverished people with poor eyesight, distribution of optical instruments to 240 eyesight-recovery institutions and purchase of audiophones for 6,000 impoverished deaf children, said Vice President Cheng Kai of the Executive Council of the China Disabled Persons' Federation.
