Deaf woman raped

Polokwane - A 79-year-old deaf was raped on Thursday, allegedly by her son, Limpopo police said on Friday.

The woman's daughter had opened the door to her mother's room in her house in Makhado and allegedly saw her 37-year-old brother on top of the elderly woman raping her.

She ran to neighbours for help but got no response so called the police who arrested the man.

Captain Ailwei Mushavhanamadi said that the woman had been unable to shout for help.

The woman was admitted to hospital for treatment.
