MOTION PICTURE ACCESS (MoPix) NEWS
Week of July 9-15

Three new accessible films open this week... Sleepover, starring Alexa Vega (from the Spy Kids movies) debuts with closed captions and descriptions. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (starring funnyman Will Ferrell) and King Arthur (starring Clive Owen) debut with closed captions only. All three films will play in select theaters equipped with MoPix systems.

Fahrenheit 9/11
We continue to receive many, many inquiries about access features for this film, if and when they will be available. We've encouraged folks to write directly to the film's distributor, Lions Gate Films (general-inquiries@lgecorp.com) and to writer/director Michael Moore himself (mike@michaelmoore.com). We've put calls in to Lions Gate, but have not heard back. Requests from patrons may yet tip the balance on this one.

WHO LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA?
We're starting to get inquiries as to whether The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, due out this November, will be accessible. We caption the Nickelodeon series here at the Media Access Group, and have many Spongebob fans on staff. However, our little group does not compare to the legions of Spongebob fans out there. The studio that is releasing the films is Paramount. Your advocacy will definitely help on this one.
