An elderly deaf woman mugged and indecently assaulted by a teenage boy two years ago was robbed by an 11-year-old girl yesterday.

The attacks took place in the same Darwin suburb.

The frail woman, who weighs less than 40kg, was last night described by police as being "very shaken" by the attack.

She was allegedly attacked and overpowered by the girl at Malak about 9.30am.

The woman, 66, was walking along Magdelene Court when the girl allegedly came up behind her and grabbed her handbag.

The woman tried to hold on to her bag.

But she lost her grip and fell, injuring her right arm. The woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital but was later discharged.

The girl has been charged with robbery and stealing with violence.

The girl has been bailed to appear in Darwin Juvenile Court on August 31.

In December 2001, the woman was attacked by a 14-year-old boy at Malak shops.

She was pushed to the ground and indecently assaulted.

Police described the attack as ''shocking''.

The boy pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 160 hours' community service.

The woman said the attack had made her lose her appetite.
