Great News! We will have our 3rd Halloween Costume Ball for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Their Friends on Saturday, October 30, 2004 from 8pm until 1am at the HUGE Friendship Auditorium , 3201 Riverside Drive in Los Angeles not far from Griffith Park. Both Bruce Gross and Gino Guidice are the co-chairpersons for the Halloween Costume Ball. Last year we had the Ball in Burbank with over 300 people and we expect to have the same number maybe more.

We will have cash prizes for the best costumes being selected by professional judges who know about costumes from the entertainment industry. The Judges for this year's Halloween Ball are as follows: Bernard Bragg, Terrylene, and Anthony Natale. They are well-known deaf and hard of hearing celebrities.

The categories for prizes are the Funniest, The Scariest, The Most Fantasy, and ofcourse the Grand Prize.

Admission is $25 by mail or before October 27th. We accept few tickets at the door for $30 but it is recommended that you buy the tickets in advance and send a personal check or a money order, or cashier's check to WRAD, PO Box 3211 Quartz Hill, California 93586. We will accept personal checks until October 15. After October 15 we will only accept money order or cashier's check until October 25th.

We will have entertainment with dancing as well as costume contest at the Halloween Ball. Beer and wine will be sold at the party as well as soft drinks. We will serve light refreshments for our guests.

Attached is a flyer of the Halloween Ball you may copy and print. You are welcome to forward this message to others who are interested to attend the Halloween Ball too.

We will have sponsors showing their displays or promotional information near the entrance of the Friendship Auditorium.

Hope to see you at the Halloween Costume Ball as it is going to be alot of fun. Come wearing your costumes but you do not have to wear one to enter. This event is for people 18 years old and older, both deaf, hard of hearing or hearing.

The event at the Friendship Auditorium is near Los Feliz Blvd and the Golden State Freeway #5 not far from Griffith Park. It is on Riverside Drive and parking is FREE. We have plenty of room to park your vehicle at the Friendship Auditorium parking lot.

For some of you coming from out of town, there are many places to stay in Los Angeles but we recommend you to stay at the following motels that are close to our event. It is also suggested that you plan to rent a car because LA is a big city BUT there are public transportation like busses and subways available if you choose this option.

Motels to consider for your stay:

Econo Lodge ( About $53-$65 per night for 2 to 4 people per room)
777 North Vine Street, Hollywood, CA 90038
Very nice motel with a pool at a reasonable price. Reserve now to avoid disappointment at www.choicehotels.com
or
Best Western Hollywood Hills ( About $89 to $180 per night)
6141 Franklin Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90028
www.bestwestern.com

You can choose other motels or hotels to stay in the LA area as well but make your reservations as soon as possible as you can always change later.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments at WRAD at wradceo@aol.com or HLONEWS@aol.com Our website is now under construction and we hope to have it operational in the near future.
