Separated Deaf Couple Suspected In Love Triangle Murder
From: The New Mexico Channel.com, NM - Sep 29, 2004
Two people are in custody after an apparent love triangle ended with one person dead.
According to court records, Conrado Gonzales is charged with an open count of murder, and conspiracy to commit evidence tampering.
The other person arrested was Victoria Pedroza-Gonzalez, who is charged with conspiracy and evidence tampering.
Pedroza-Gonzalez and the victim, Patrick Garcia, lived together.
Pedroza-Gonzalez was thought to be separated from the suspected killer, Gonzalez. Both Pedroza-Gonzalez and Gonzalez are deaf, which has caused a bit of a setback in the case.
Garcia was found dead Tuesday morning. Authorities say he's the victim of a love triangle.
Garcia's daughter said he loved Pedroza-Gonzalez a lot.
Court records show Pedroza-Gonzalez would often let her ex-husband Gonzalez into the home.
According to police, she did not believe he would kill Garcia.
Police say after the murder, Pedroza-Gonzalez helped clean up the crime scene.
Authorities think they both left in Garcia's car.
Pedroza-Gonzalez tells police she never saw Gonzalez kill Garcia.
Officials say the investigation continues in this case.
The ex-couple is expected to be arraigned Thursday. They've brought in official court interpreters to help with the translations.
