Boy, 15, is charged in beating of woman, 83, at home

A 15-year-old faces several charges after he was arrested Saturday and accused of beating an 83-year-old woman.

The teenager, whose identity was not released because he is charged as a juvenile, faces several counts, including assault, robbery, tampering with physical evidence and intimidating a witness, said Officer Dwight Mitchell, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police.

The charges stem from an incident Friday in which the woman was found beaten in her home in the 7400 block of Six Mile Lane.

Mitchell said her husband was so hard of hearing that he did not hear the assault.

The teenager is an acquaintance of the couple, Mitchell said.

The woman is recovering at a local hospital, he said
