SUMMARY:
Plans overall strategy for the Annual Giving Program at Gallaudet University; provides strategies for securing support from Gallaudet University alumni, faculty and staff, parents and friends as well as from social service, fraternal and other organizations; designs fund raising strategies and ensures effective implementation; serves as liaison to key constituencies. Provides a comprehensive plan based on data and analysis to segment donors for appropriate annual fund solicitations, cultivation, and stewardship activities including direct mail.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
I. Develops and executes, with guidance from the Director of Development and Associate Director of Major & Planned Gifts, a comprehensive plan to increase annual giving by individuals.
II. Develops a fundraising program which includes alumni fundraising events, reunion campaigns and affinity programs specific to alumni with attention given to increasing alumni participation. This includes working closely with the Assistant Director for Alumni Outreach/Student Programs and with the Director of Alumni Relations.

IV. Develops a strong President's Circle ($1,000 and above) program which includes mechanisms for increasing annual giving levels. Develops all printed material specific to this plan with editorial and creative assistance given by the Development Associate for Direct Mail and Publication Programs.
V. Coordinates and acts as primary fundraiser for the Campus Community Campaign.
VI. Coordinates all content for the development office's website.
VII. Identifies and coordinates a phone solicitation program, a parent giving program, the Graduating Students Campaign, and also manages specific organizational donor events as needed.
VIII. Identifies, recruits, and trains volunteers as needed to support and enhance Annual Giving goals.
IX. Makes presentations to special constituencies about Gallaudet University, its needs for private support and related topics.
X. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required. One year of fund-raising experience preferred as well as excellence in written communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies. Willingness and ability to travel. American Sign Language skills required at time of application.
