WRAD, Inc. presents a Halloween Costume Ball for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and their Friends on Saturday October 30, 2004 in Los Angeles, California
Great News! We will have our 3rd Halloween Costume Ball for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Their Friends on Saturday, October 30, 2004 from 8pm until 1am at the beautiful and huge Friendship Auditorium , 3201 Riverside Drive in Los Angeles not far from Griffith Park. Both Bruce Gross and Gino Giudice are the co-chairpersons for the Halloween Costume Ball. Last year we had the Ball at the Burbank Hilton with over 300 people and we also had over 300 people at Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood a few years ago.
We will have cash prizes for best costumes being selected by professional judges who know about costumes from the entertainment industry. The judges for this year's Halloween Ball are as follows: Bernard Bragg, Terrylene, and Anthony Natale. They are well-known deaf and hard of hearing artists. Bob Hiltermann is the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and he is a well known deaf and hard of hearing entertainer.
The categories for the prizes are the Funniest, The Scariest, The Most Fantasy, and ofcourse the Grand Prize with a lovely trophy being donated by Gino Giudice of Hollywood, California.
Admission is $25 by mail before October 27th. We accept few tickets at the door for $30 but it is recommended that you buy the tickets in advance and send a personal check or a money order, or cashier's check to WRAD, PO Box 3211 Quartz Hill, California 93586. We will accept personal checks until October 15. After October 15 we will only accept money order or cashier's check until October 25th.
For a limited time only you can reserve a table for 8 people for only $200. We will reserve you a table for you and your friends to sit together if you send us a check of $200.
We will also have entertainment with dancing given by Joe Mc Roberts and his DJ music. Joe Mc Roberts is deaf himself. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks will be sold at the party as well as soft drinks. We will serve complimentary dessert buffet and coffee at the Ball.
This year Alexander Matunine of San Diego will be videotaping the Halloween Ball. You can purchase the tape for only $20 at the Ball as we require a deposit of $10 if you want to order a tape. Mr. Matunine will have a table for you to pick up your form to order the tape with your deposit.

Hope to see you at the Halloween Costume Ball as it is going to be alot of fun. Come wearing your costumes but you do not have to wear one to enter. This event is for people 18 years old and older, both deaf, hard of hearing or hearing.
The event at the Friendship Auditorium is near Los Feliz Blvd and Glendale Blvd and the Golden State Freeway #5 not far from Griffith Park. It is on Riverside Drive and parking is FREE. We have plenty of room to park your vehicle at the Friendship Auditorium parking lot.
For some of you coming from out of town, there are many places to stay in Los Angeles but we recommend you to stay at the following motels that are close to our event. It is also suggested that you plan to rent a car because LA is a big city BUT there are public transportation like busses and subways available if you choose this option.

The Halloween Costume Ball is a fundraiser for WRAD, Inc. The WRAD organization is an International NGO organization, functioning under the guidelines of the United Nations. WRAD has four major Sections each of which provides programs, services, and activities to hearing, deaf and hard of hearing persons. Among the Sections are Education, Charitable, Research, and Publications. The Hearing Loss Outreach of WRAD, Inc. endeavors to Reach Out to the community of people with hearing loss, in order to encourage inclusion, acceptance, equal access, and equal opportunities for persons with hearing loss today, tomorrow, and forever.
