TO ALL WALKS OF LIVES All OVER THE GLOBE, INCLUDING THE DEAF COMMUNITY:

You are the fuel to my FIRE and I would not be where I am today. To those of you who were and ARE still a big part of my life, I, Jade, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kind words of support via e-mails, your monetary support & purchases, your attendance at my fundraiser events & screenings, your labors of love, your committed volunteer work for all my production projects, so forth – all proved to be essential for the fuel of my fire. For those of you who demonstrated a lack of understanding & appreciation, uncertainty, and reservations in my work or my ability as a Black Deaf filmmaker, also contributed to the fuel of my fire. As the chapter of a decade comes to an end, regardless of how you supported me, I thank you for supporting me and my work all these years from 1991 to present. I look forward on to a new chapter.

Oprah Winfrey sent me an inspiring letter along with a $1000 donation check for my production company, DeafVision Filmworks, Inc. on October 15, 1991. This support was for my first color film, “Cutting the Edge of a Free Bird.” In her letter, she wrote, “I was impressed by your commitment to provide cultural perspectives of Deaf people and minorities.” Oprah did not need to see evidence of proof. She believed in the existence of a force by the Creator that she knew would arrive at the zenith of my film career in the next decade to come. Today, that force is onto something even bigger!

Since my BIOPIC: “…A Black Deaf Filmmaker’s Journey” is now completed and is available for sale, rental, and festival submissions, I have had the time to reflect all the triumphs and tears of my journey as a struggling filmmaker. I am constantly amazed how much strength and force I had in me to continue the work in which I strongly believe in. I encourage you to show support by purchasing this DVD copy to get a better understanding of my passion, plan, and the purpose of my Mission in action: Passion of Words Turning into Action.

IT'S HAPPENING NOW BECAUSE I BELIEVE, AND YOU MUST START BELIEVING.
