Rape case of deaf and dumb minor solved :

New Delhi, Nov 13 : With the arrest of a 17-year-old boy, police today claimed to have solved a sensational rape of a deaf and dumb minor in R K Puram area of the capital late last month.

The boy, a resident of a servant quarter in Moti Bagh-I, has been identified as a local fugitive, who was allegedly involved in two other cases as well, police said.

The incident had taken place in the jungle behind Anant Ram Dairy on October 27 last and R K Puram Police had registered an FIR in the matter on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's mother.

Policemen in plain clothes were also sent to the jungle to look for the culprit.

The breakthrough came as several youths from the area were thoroughly questioned and the police came to know about a juvenile who had allegedly beaten up a school boy.

Policemen managed to nab the school boy's younger brother who helped them identify the culprit.

Later, during interrogation, he confessed to the crime, police claimed. PTI
