Sweden Withdraws Team from 2005 Deaflympics

Stockholm, Sweden – A word was received that Sweden decided to withdraw its women's football team from the coming 20th Deaflympic Summer Games competitions, which are due to open January 5, 2005, at Melbourne, Australia.

Women's football is making its Deaflympics debut.

Following Sweden's withdrawal, eight teams are left to compete in the football tournament of the Games: Australia, USA, Russia, Denmark, Portugal, Great Britain, Norway and Brazil.
