A 17-year-old was arrested Friday in connection to a burglary and attempted sexual battery at a home in Maitland, police said.
Robert Eugene Curry, a student at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Augustine, was charged in connection to the March 15 burglary and attempted sexual battery in a neighborhood near the RDV Sportsplex, police said.
An arrest report said the suspect entered a home on Tortoise Shell Drive through a sliding glass door and attacked a woman. He ran from the home when he thought the woman had called 911 on her cell phone but left a red and white baseball hat behind.
Curry also is a "person of interest" in a burglary and a sexual battery at home in the same neighborhood that happened on March 31 at about 1:30 p.m, police said.
Maitland Police investigators are waiting for DNA results from that case.
