Nationally renowned performer of stage, screen, and television
C.J. Jones, starring in his one-man play,
What Are You . . . Deaf?
At the center of the play What Are You . . . Deaf? is CJ Jones's relationship with his father, a man who struggled to become a champion boxer at a time when being Deaf and black was a double handicap. Proud and stubborn, he fought for his dreams all his life-against opponents, against prejudice, even against CJ and his dream of becoming an actor. This new play was commissioned by and premiered last year at the award-winning Deaf West Theatre in Los Angeles.
