The Virginia School For The Deaf And Blind could be one step closer to staying in Staunton.

Delegate Chris Saxman says legislation should pass Wednesday, allowing existing sites to be considered for the VSDB consolidation.

This comes after Governor Mark Warner included the provision in his budget recommendation last week. Saxman says the amendment is a good first step for supporters of the Staunton school.

"I think it gives people in Staunton a reason to be at least a little bit happier about the possible outcome that they want, and its up to us now to lobby the board of education," said Saxman

Saxman hopes to offer a proposal to the Board of Education in May.
