Living Traditions and Historic Objects
Bring your whole family for a day of sampling the Bay Area's rich cultural traditions
WHEN: Sunday, June 26, 2005 Noon - 4 p.m.
**EVERYONE WELCOME - DEAF, HEARING, YOUNG, AND YOUNG AT HEART**
WHERE: The Oakland Museum of California, 1000 Oak Street at 10th
(1 Block East of the Lake Merritt Bart Station
Deaf Events at the Festival:
* 12-3 Art activity with Deaf artist Ron Trumble and DEAF Media staff
* 1 DEAF Media storytelling and gallery treasure hunt with Martha Aguilar
Plus Interpreted Festival Activities:
* Learn traditional California Indian games and stories
* Experience early California cooking techniques by making your own tortillas and churning butter
* Hands-on art activities inspired by Japanese and Latino cultural traditions
* Ukulele making demonstration
* Explore the diverse stories and objects in the Cowell Hall of California History

ADMISSION: FREE with RSVP ($8 adults, $5 children/seniors without pre-registration)
Note: this includes free admission to all the museum galleries for the whole day.
