Lake Havasu, AZ June 25, 2005 The Colorado River Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CRADHH) members elected its new officers and presented a long "things to do list" agenda.

It was a well-attended first official meeting as an organization. Members from Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, Kingman, Mohave Valley, Fort Mohave, Golden Valley, Arizona; Needles, California; and Laughlin, Nevada came to see and discuss what the Director – Bobby Jacobs from Lake Havasu presented on the table.

An enthusiastic group elected unanimously its first organizational officers:

Director – Robert "Bobby" Jacobs – Lake Havasu, AZ
President – Angelina "Angie" Ortiz, Lake Havasu, AZ
Vice President – Joan Jacobs – Lake Havasu, AZ
Secretary – Linda Tippetts – Kingman, AZ
Treasurer- Jack Salisbury – Bullhead, City
Media Relations – Amy Bakari – Kingman, AZ

CRADHH also presented its first major fundraising project called "TRIX BRUCE in SPOKEN SILENCE". The renowned Deaf poet and storyteller, Trix Bruce, has been invited by the organization to help with its campaign to encourage "deaf awareness" in the area and bring the deaf and the hearing community together and at the same time to gather some needed financial funding from local businesses. Ms. Bruce is scheduled to perform TALES OF A MAD MAD MAD ASL WORLD on Friday, October 28, 2005 and will hold a whole day workshop on the use of CLASSIFIERS the following day Saturday, October 29, 2005. An Event Committee headed by Pam Bernal, Rae Henson, Zoom Bakari, Amy Bakari, Chet Vasey, and Christine Vasey, will oversee the details of the project.

Spoken Silence will be one of many performances scheduled during the annual London Bridge Days Festival held in October at the London Bridge Resort and Convention Center in Lake Havasu City. CRADHH was fortunate to get the Lake Havasu Conference and Visitors Bureau and the London Bridge Resort and Convention Center as early supporters of this huge endeavor. The London Bridge Resort and Convention Center will also "host" the event and Trix Bruce's stay in Lake Havasu. Thousands of people from across the United States and from other countries come to watch the famous London Bridge Festival of Lights. We encourage all, who plan to attend this event, to make reservations now! The CRADHH Event Committee is arranging discounted hotel accommodations for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing attendees.
