From: ThrillNetwork.com, NY - Aug 30, 2005

Aug. 30th, 2005 -- LAKE GEORGE, N.Y., – The Great Escape and the Association for the Hearing Impaired are joining forces to present a unique day of activities for individuals and families of those with hearing impairment. On September 11, 2005, The Great Escape will host its first-ever Hearing Impaired Day at The Great Escape.

Frequency modulated (FM) systems, which are assistive listening devices comprised of a transmitter and receiver for the hard of hearing, will be available for shows, and sign language interpreters will be on-hand throughout the day for assistance. It will be the first time that many deaf and hard of hearing individuals will be able to enjoy the music of The Great Escape's many entertaining shows.

Discounted tickets are available for deaf and hard of hearing individuals, as well as their family and friends, at the price of $17.99, plus tax. (Regular admission ticket price is $35.99, plus tax). Tickets can be purchased until September 9.

The Great Escape will donate a portion of each pre-sold ticket to support the Association for the Hearing Impaired's assistive device loan-out program.

"We're very excited about this special event, which will allow many deaf and hard of hearing individuals the opportunity to enjoy the shows at The Great Escape for the first time," said Sandra Clark, Executive Director of the Association for the Hearing Impaired. "We hope everyone – even those without a hearing impairment – will attend, as a portion of the proceeds will benefit our loan out program, which allows individuals with hearing impairment an opportunity to borrow equipment at no charge."

Tickets can be purchased at the following locations: Association for the Hearing Impaired in Queensbury; The Hearing Center in Queensbury; Saratoga Hearing Center in Saratoga Springs; Madison Hearing Center in Albany; and the Hearing Assessment and Rehabilitation Services in Catskill, Hudson and Troy.
