SELF HELP FOR HARD OF HEARING PEOPLE – Los Angeles http://www.shhh-la.org
Hi Friends!
It's that time again! Our next meeting will be this Saturday September 24th. If you are new: it's at the HEAR Center in Pasadena from 10AM -12 (or later) and it will be captioned. If you need directions please let us know.
Our topic is "Emergency Preparedness" and we have a cool speaker: Chuck Murchie, retired Battalion Chief from the San Marino Fire Dept. Some of us have gathered materials to show and share with you on this topic, thank you Pat & Chloé. We also want to hear from you: what coping strategies are you using in a crisis? What has worked and NOT worked? Personally, hysteria and running in circles may not be the way to go! LOL
As usual we will have breakfast treats, coffee, OJ (and a kitty jar)...plus some happy birthday singing to do! We do want to talk over some future plans. Lots of stuff coming up: Anniversary one-year meeting in October, Metro tour, Getty outing, etc. etc...But most important, hanging out to visit and catch up with friends.
Hope to see a lot of you there! Have a great week.

SHHH-LA was founded in September 2004 by a group of adults with hearing loss. The purpose of this group is to bring support and understanding to all people who live with a hearing loss (whether it is mild to severe) and their family and friends. SHHH-LA members communicate by lip reading, writing signs, sign language or the use of a real time captionist. Membership is free.
